WASHINGTON – The longest-ever government shutdown is on the verge of ending, with the Senate poised to pass a bipartisan deal on Monday night that would resolve the weeks-long fight over government funding.

Senators are about to vote on an agreement reached between some Democrats, Republicans and President Donald Trump 's White House that would keep the government open until Jan. 30.
