PROVO, Utah (ABC4 Sports) - It was a crushing loss, no doubt. #7 BYU got blown out at #8 Texas Tech on Saturday, 29-7, but the Cougars' hopes of making the Big 12 Championship Game are still very much alive.
The Cougars do not believe the moment was too big in Lubbock, despite the fact they did not look like a top-10 team.
"I don't think the moment was too big for us at all," said offensive lineman Austin Leausa. "I think that we just didn't play at the level that we needed to play at."
"Obviously, we didn't do enough to put ourselves in a position to gain a victory," said head coach Kalani Sitake. "But I appreciate the effort. Way too many mistakes for us to be in a position to come back in that game."
