NATCHITOCHES, La. – Mayor Ronnie Williams Jr. has confirmed to KTBS Monday afternoon an ethics inquiry is underway involving the city.
Williams told KTBS he was contacted by the state ethics board several weeks ago; however, the communication was supposed to be confidential, per the requirements of the board.
He said he would issue a written response via his social media accounts following the City Council's regular meeting Monday night. The post was published just before 7 p.m.
In it, Williams said the inquiry is “routine and common among cities” across the state and the city will "confidently provide all requested information."
