The County School Superintendent's Office hosted the Thrive Fest on Pierson Field on Saturday, marking the fifth year for the student resource fair. Turnout was strong, County School Superintendent Maya Donnelly said, and kids of all ages had a variety of fun activities to choose from. This is the first year the event is not sponsored by the GEAR UP grant, with that federal funding not being renewed earlier this year. But Donnelly said the office plans to keep it running with or without grant support well into the future.
Thirty-five organizations set up tables for students and their families to learn about the resources available, ranging from drug awareness programs to early childhood resources to post-secondary opportunities. ×
