DALLAS — Taylor Smith enjoys a peaceful, calm and safe walk. It’s what drew him to the area of Tyler Street in North Oak Cliff.
“We love living here," said Smith, an HOA Board Member. "We love the community. Again, it’s the walkability."
What he didn’t expect was the worry. In May, Smith’s cameras caught a vehicle speeding through the roundabout and crashing into his neighbor’s home. In February, Smith caught another vehicle crash at the same spot.
“We've seen excessive speeding, and we hear it late at night,” said Smith.
City Councilman Chad West said accidents have actually gone down 50% since adding the roundabout. “The challenge that we've seen in the last year or so, especially, is cars flying down Tyler Street heading south and not realizing the roundabout is there,” said West
