GREER, S.C. —

The government shutdown is continuing to cause flight cancellations and delays at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and Asheville Regional Airport, as the Federal Aviation Administration reduces air traffic.

According to FlightAware, there have been about a dozen cancellations at GSP and multiple more at Asheville Regional on Monday.

Political experts said it could take time for conditions to return to normal if the government reopens.

The Senate has advanced a deal that could signal the beginning of the end of the government shutdown, with a measure potentially heading to the House of Representatives soon.
