MARINELAND, Fla. — A judge Monday morning ruled to reopen the bidding process for the sale of Marineland Dolphin Adventure.
That means the group of dolphin professionals who would like to keep Marineland a dolphin park was finally able to officially be part of the auction.
The original auction for Marineland happened in October. But when it came time for the judge to approve the final bid, Judge Laurie Selber Silverstein learned new information : Marineland is still open for business, and it still has 17 dolphins and 1200 other animals.
So she encouraged the attorneys for the debtors to consider another auction, during which a group of dolphin professionals might have a chance to bid.
