Auburn general manager Will Redmond has a difficult task these days, trying to sell an organizational philosophy that might not be in place much longer and a future that might change drastically in the next few weeks.
Eight days after head coach Hugh Freeze was fired and replaced on an interim basis by DJ Durkin, Redmond was in Mobile along with offensive coordinator Derrick Nix. Redmond is trying to help keep together a 2026 Auburn recruiting class ranked No. 26 nationally and a talented roster that is liable to be picked apart once the transfer portal opens in January.
“When you look at what Coach Durkin has done, stepping in, for now over a week, having the opportunity to preach to not only our fans, our current roster and future prospects — this is our team, this is Auburn football,”
