HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - If you take a stroll through Pine Hills nursery, you’ll see that crape Myrtle trees are starting to lose their leaves.
Winter is almost here, bringing in freezing temperatures.
Colder temperatures mean the greenhouses are surrounded with plastic to keep the plants warm.
Nursery manager, Rachel Bond says keeping plants healthy in the wintertime is a busy task and that this cold snap has already had an impact on business.
“This is the coldest that we’ve had since last year. We do slow down a little bit when it gets cold because people just don’t like to be out in the cold weather,” Bond said. “The trees and the shrubs, they started to drop their leaves so you may notice a lot of leaves falling after this cold snap.”
