It was almost one year ago to the day that Gwyneth Philips showed up at her first PWHL camp as a third-round pick of the Ottawa Charge — a college star with an impressive resumé, but, of course, not a second of pro experience — and about five months ago that she was being mentioned as the reason fans shouldn’t be overly concerned about players the team lost to free agency over the summer.

If the subtractions do outweigh the roster additions, the 25-year-old puckstopper is expected to be the Charge’s saving grace.
