A Yuba County man is recovering after a frozen water balloon crashed through his windshield while driving along Highway 20 near Marysville. Alex Plant said the impact shattered glass into his eyes and face, leaving him temporarily blinded but able to pull over safely and call 911. Emergency crews took him to Rideout Hospital, where doctors removed glass fragments, including one lodged under his eyelid. Plant is now recovering vision in both eyes, though he still experiences light sensitivity. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and reviewing highway cameras to find whoever threw the object.
