The debate over extending federal subsidies for the Affordable Care Act has raised concerns among New Mexicans about health insurance affordability, but state officials say New Mexico's Health Care Affordability Fund will help stabilize premiums.
Alex Sanchez, who works for BeWell, New Mexico's official health insurance marketplace, said, "The big story is you're going to be OK because you live here in New Mexico."

Sanchez explained that the state's health care affordability fund will provide financial support to prevent insurance premiums from skyrocketing.
"Right now, this money is going to come from the state instead of the federal government," Sanchez said.
