Stockton is getting another shot at the IHSA Class 1A state volleyball title.

And Rockford Christian, led by Clemson-recruit Maddie Anspaugh, is getting its first at the 2A level.

"They had it in their heads that they were going to state this year," Rockford Christian's first-year head coach Bryanna Weiskircher-Moore said of her team. "And they went out there and took it... We were really locked in tonight. Just focused."

Rockford Christian hammered on River Forest-Trinity 25-23, 25-16 to win the 2A Marengo Super-Sectional on Monday night, and will now take on Columbia in the 2A state semifinals at noon Friday in the CEFCU Arena in Normal. A win in that one would put them in the 2A state finals at 1:55 p.m. Saturday, while a loss would mean a spot in the third-place match at 12:25 p.m.
