ORANGE CITY, IA (KTIV) - A northwest Iowa filmmaker screened a documentary, “The Twenty-Two, Tales of Supreme Sacrifice”, to remember military members who died serving their country.

Monday night’s event was held at the Orange City Public Library.

The documentary tells the stories of the 22 men, from Orange City, who died in war.

John Karr is a filmmaker, from Hospers, who spent several months putting the documentary together.

He researched archives, old newspapers, and even talked to surviving family members.

The documentary covered their earlier lives when they decided to join the military.

The film also covered how they died.

Karr says Veterans Day is an opportunity to honor at their service, and sacrifice.
