EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State women’s soccer learned its tournament fate as the Spartans gathered at Jenison Fieldhouse to watch the selection show on Monday afternoon.
Michigan State will be a No. 2 seed, the highest seed the Spartans have achieved in program history, and it puts them in line to host up to three games in the tournament.
Michigan State will play Horizon League champions Milwaukee in the first round. MSU beat Milwaukee 9-0 at DeMartin Stadium early in the season, but the Panthers turned their season around quickly after and haven’t lost a game since August.
Michigan State brings a six-game unbeaten streak of its own into the tournament, and MSU has won at least one NCAA Tournament game in each of the last three seasons.
