As the sun began to set in North Texas, four men worked for hours installing Christmas lights on a home in Aubrey. Among them were Cam Danh and Christopher Duran, co-owners of Wonderly Lights of North DFW.
But this wasn’t just another job; it was a heartfelt tribute for retired U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Kyl Benton.
Danh, a longtime friend of Benton and his wife Vanessa, stepped in after learning the combat veteran couldn’t install holiday lights himself. With Vanessa’s help, they pulled off a surprise that left Benton speechless.
“I’ve wanted to do them forever, and I just can’t get them done,” Benton said. “So, when I pulled around the corner, I was like, ‘That’s not my house, no way.’ But it is. So it’s like, ‘Wow, this is amazing, this is great.’”
