Srinagar : The Cultural/Seminars/Debates Committee of Amar Singh College, Cluster University Srinagar, in collaboration with NSS, ELC, and NCC, organised multiple events Monday, to mark the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’, the song of India’s national awakening.
The programme was organized in the College Auditorium with a joint inaugural session, featuring a Special Morning Assembly and a soulful singing of Vande Mataram. Historical origins and national importance of Vande Mataram was also outlined during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Amar Singh College, Prof. (Dr.) Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, remarked that events like these aim to instill patriotic fervour and cultural unity among students.
