CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — Two people are now in custody in connection with a 4-year-old boy's death.

Danaysha Booker, 24, was arrested on Monday by the Hudson Police Department. Booker is charged with felony child abuse in connection with the death of a 4-year-old boy .

The child suffered injuries from an assault on Tuesday, Nov. 4 on Hickman Avenue in Hudson. Investigators said Thomas Bryant, 22, was babysitting the child when he assaulted him.

On Thursday, Nov. 6, the toddler died from his injuries. Bryant was charged with child abuse inflicting serious injury. On Monday, Bryant was charged with murder.

Bryant was charged with child abuse on Oct. 29 for assaulting the boy, according to Caldwell County Court records. He was released on a $5,000 bond and signed an agreement not to mak
