TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Public safety, housing, and homelessness are the main topics of a series of meetings held by the city of Tucson.
City leaders are looking for your feedback on where and how to spend taxpayer money going forward.
A meeting on Monday night for Ward 1 residents was the first of several that will be held over the next few weeks.
Ramon Olivas and his family have lived in the Old Pueblo for generations. He said he’s concerned about the proposals brought forward to build affordable housing in empty lots near his Barrio Anita neighborhood in Ward 1.
“Bottom line, (I want to discuss the) safety and security of the neighborhood,” Olivas said. “I just want to express the security and safety issues for Barrio Anita.”
