Gov. Joe Lombardo came to UNLV to speak to a class of seniors in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) program. Among the topics he discussed was the legislation he is proposing to limit voting access to prevent voter fraud. He acknowledged that there is no evidence of voter fraud in Nevada but he believes there is a perception of voter fraud.
Lombardo has two choices:
• He could come out and forcefully campaign to combat the misperception of voter fraud by reassuring people that we have no problem that in Nevada. He could take steps to make it easier for honest Nevadans to have access to the polls.
• Or, he could strengthen the false perception of voter fraud by pushing for this restrictive legislation, which would make it harder for honest citizens to vote and reinforce disinge
