The City Mission Launceston family services supervisor loves the work she does, and with over a decade in the human services industry behind her, nothing much surprises her.

But Mrs Harvey said she was surprised by the fact that the financial strain induced by the cost-of-living crisis is not limited to any one cohort.

"You could be a single mom, you could be a single man, you could be a woman in your 50s, a woman in your 80s, a young person in your 20s," she said.
