Remembrance ceremonies have already begun.
Saturday (Nov. 8) was Indigenous Veterans Day. The Westbank First Nation’s annual ceremony to remember its war veterans was held Friday at the WFN Cenotaph.
For Remembrance Day Tuesday, the biggest ceremony in the area is traditionally the service at City Park in Kelowna.
Veterans will begin marching to the cenotaph at 10:45 a.m. The ceremony is scheduled to go from 11 a.m. to about 11:30 with a post-ceremony march to the Queensway traffic circle.
The city says to expect some road closures starting at 8 a.m.
The ceremony at the Rutland Lions Park cenotaph, hosted by the Army Navy Air Force Veterans Unit 376, also draws a large crowd. Veterans will again be marching to the ceremony.
