Quiet reflection on the sacrifice of servicemen and women was the order of the day at Remembrance Day services at halls, memorials and schools across the region.
"Being Remembrance Day, we remember all those that went before us, and sacrificed to give us the freedoms we have in Australia here today," Australian Army Vietnam veteran and president of the Tamworth Legacy Club, David Roese, said.
Mr Roese attended the wreath-laying ceremony at Tamworth War Memorial Town Hall, where representatives from schools, emergency services, and the military paid their respects.
"It's wonderful to see people recognise the commitment men and women in the armed services have made for Australia," he said.
