A horror crash between a car and a truck at a rural intersection in Western Victoria has cut short the life of a three-year-old boy and his parents.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the intersection of Eurambeen-Streatham and Mount William roads at Stoneleigh - about 45 minutes west of Ballarat - shortly after 9.30am after the small car was T-boned by the truck.
Victoria Police initially reported two children and one adult died at the scene.
However, Major Collision Investigation Unit Detective Inspector Craig McEvoy said on Tuesday afternoon that a three-year-old boy, a 31-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, who was driving the vehicle, were killed.
The boy's grandmother, also in the car, was flown to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
