Nitro had to put the afterburners on to arrive in time on debut and trainer Peter Snowden says he may well need them again if he’s to go two from two at Rosehill on Wednesday.

The promising three-year-old jumps from the outside in the Asahi Super Dry Handicap (1200m) but that’s been cushioned by the field reduced to seven.

Snowden said he’d love to see Nitro take up a position and will analyse the race before deciding but wouldn’t be so concerned if he’s ridden quietly.

“If he drew a good gate we’d go forward and be in the first few but it’s more likely we’ll go back and ride him similar to the other day,″⁣ Snowden said.
