Synopsis: A Tiruppur village administrative officer, Muthulakshmi, was arrested by DVAC sleuths after demanding a ₹30,000 bribe for a patta name transfer. The complainant paid ₹20,000 in marked notes during a sting at her home. Caught red-handed, she has been remanded in judicial custody.

Officers from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in Tiruppur district nabbed a village administrative officer on Monday, 10 November, after she demanded and accepted a bribe from a man in exchange for processing a patta name transfer.

Krishnasamy, aged 33, from Gandhi Nagar near Karadivavi village in Palladam, had submitted an application to transfer the patta for land belonging to his father-in-law in Arivolinagar, close to Vadugapalayam village.
