The Victorian government has announced a new suite of measures to crack down on "dangerous and radical behaviour", including giving police further powers to remove masks at protests.
Under the proposed laws, police will be able to ask people who they reasonably believe have committed or will commit a crime at a protest to remove their masks or face coverings, or face fines.
The laws will also ban the use of "attachment devices" such as glue, ropes or locks at protests, with the premier highlighting protest groups who have used the tools to attach themselves to public spaces.
