Scientists have identified a new drug that safeguards nerve cells harmed by 'one of the cruellest diseases', providing hope for substantially slowing its progress. Preliminary studies with M102 showed enhancements in movement and nerve function in mice.
Researchers are now hopeful that this medication can soon be tested in people with motor neurone disease (MND) , a condition for which there is no existing cure.
