Adrian Public Schools is recognizing special education teacher Natasha Wetzel for her contributions to educational research focused on STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Math).
Wetzel co-authored a recent research article on after-school engineering projects, published in "Cases on Informal Learning for Science and Mathematics Education" from IGI Global Scientific Publishing, according to a community announcement.
The study, co-authored with Vanessa Morrison and Andrea Milner of Adrian College, examines how third-grade students engaged in engineering practices during an after-school program. Students designed and built artifacts in small, collaborative teams through open-ended, teacher-created challenges.
