A young beauty queen, Alison Montano Guerrero, has died in a car accident just a week after being crowned. The 20-year-old, along with her boyfriend, Jesus Eduardo Severiano García, was involved in a head-on collision with a lorry on Friday afternoon. Emergency responders arrived at the scene but could only confirm the couple's deaths. Alison had been crowned Miss Teocaltiche 2025 on 30 October, just eight days prior to the tragic incident. During the pageant, she expressed her deep affection for her hometown, stating, "Today I want to tell you that true beauty isn’t measured by crowns or dresses, but by the ability to look at others with respect and love." She was a dedicated student, pursuing a degree in Psychology and Education at the Centro Universitario de los Altos, part of the University of Guadalajara. The university extended its condolences, saying, "We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends." Local authorities in Teocaltiche also paid tribute to Alison, highlighting her character. They remarked, "She didn’t just captivate with her beauty - she also proved to be an outstanding young woman with strong values. Her legacy leaves an enduring mark of joy, kindness and dedication, making her a true source of pride." Despite not being very active on social media, Alison had over 5,000 followers on Instagram. Her last post, shared on Thursday, featured her wearing a black hat and a brown top. The cause of the crash on Mexico’s Jalostotitlán-Teocaltiche highway remains under investigation. The Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office has launched an inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
