Actor Dwayne Johnson has reflected on how his 2007 divorce from Dany Garcia reshaped his life and career. Speaking on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, the 52-year-old actor admitted the end of their 16-year marriage “rocked” him emotionally.

“When you get married, you sign up for the long haul, but it doesn’t always work out like that,” he said. “We had a baby, and I wondered, what kind of father was I going to be?” The star revealed he battled depression and sought solace in lighter, family-friendly films like The Game Plan (2007) and Tooth Fairy (2010). “I wanted stuff that had a happy ending,” he said.
