The Supreme Court of India has issued notice to Chintels India Pvt. Ltd. after a group of 12 flat owners from Chintels Paradiso housing society in Gurugram, filed a Contempt Petition alleging “willful non-compliance” of the apex court’s reconstruction and rent payment orders and other subsequent administrative directions issued by the Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram.

The homebuyers have accused the developer of failing to commence reconstruction of the damaged towers as directed by the court and of halting rent payments to displaced residents, in violation of both judicial and administrative orders.
