MARTINSBURG — 102-year-old World War II veteran Wilbur “Jack” Myers rode down Queen Street in the cab of a military-style truck, before disembarking in town square to kick off the eighth annual Martinsburg Veterans Day Parade with the singing of “God Bless America.”
This was the second year-in-a-row that the Williamsport, Md. native had sung at the start of the parade, at the invitation of its organizer, the Four State Community Veterans Engagement Board. For Myers, returning to the parade was a definite “yes” for him this year, after having a wonderful experience at the last parade.
