CHARLESTON, Maine — A 63-year-old Holden man who had been released from prison under supervision died Saturday morning, according to the Maine Department of Corrections.
The department said Eugene Caston, who had been on supervised community confinement after his release from Mountain View Correctional Facility, died at about 8:20 a.m. on Nov. 8. Medical personnel were present at the time of his death, officials said.
As required by department policy, the Office of the Attorney General and the state medical examiner’s office were notified.
Caston began serving a six-year sentence in 2024 for aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs and illegal possession of a firearm, according to the department.
No additional details about the circumstances of his death have been released.
