A violent mob attack on Jewish students at Toronto Metropolitan University was not a protest. It was, in my view, an attempted pogrom, conducted in broad daylight, in the heart of Canada’s largest city.

The event, “Triggered: From Combat to Campus,” was part of a peaceful speaking tour featuring Israel Defence Forces reservists sharing firsthand stories from October 7 and beyond. The name turned out to be ironic, as the people who reacted to the event were “triggered,” not by the truth of October 7 and Hamas’s terror, but by Israel defending itself.
