WASHINGTON — The McRib is back for a limited-time at McDonald's , which now has some keeping a close eye on Bitcoin.
McDonald's senior marketing director Guillaume Huin posted Monday on X that the iconic sandwich would be returning Tuesday, Nov. 11 to "most" McDonald's stores in the U.S.
He said the sandwich is the company's "most-mentioned limited-time product online."
Now where does Bitcoin come in?
In Huin's announcement, he noted that some have claimed Bitcoin and the S&P 500 tend to perform well after the McRib makes a comeback, "particularly in 2017, 2020, 2021." He stressed that was "entirely independent of McDonald's involvement."
While it is true that Bitcoin has often rallied when the golden arches has brought back the McRib, it's not always the case.
