Ryanair has issued an "important" alert to passengers about a significant change coming into effect. The airline is warning travellers to familiarise themselves with new regulations or face being issued an extra charge. ‌

The carrier has announced that from tomorrow (November 12), digital boarding passes will become mandatory. This means printed boarding passes will no longer be valid. ‌

Travellers will need to download the Ryanair app onto their smartphone or tablet to obtain their boarding pass. In a message to customers, Ryanair stated: "Important update for Ryanair passengers. ‌

"Boarding passes are going fully mobile. Digital boarding passes launch on 12 November.

"We will no longer accept printed boarding passes. You must download the Ryanair App to
