Donald Trump on Tuesday reposted an attack on the Obamas, sharing a meme that blamed Barack and Michelle Obama for worsening race relations in the United States. The Truth Social post came from an account named “jimmyjumpshi (@jimmyjumpshi)” and included the hashtag “#TruthBeKnown.”

The meme read: “RACISM IN AMERICA WAS ALMOST DEAD BECAUSE WE WERE UNITED IN RIDICULING RACISTS AND THEIR BELIEFS. THEN THESE TWO SHOWED UP & SET AMERICA BACK 100 YEARS.”

The post fits a long pattern of Trump amplifying racist messages and conspiracy theories. He was previously investigated for refusing to rent apartments to Black tenants in the 1970s, publicly called for the death penalty for the wrongly convicted Central Park Five, and spent years promoting the false birther conspiracy against Barack Obama.
