A mobile lounge collided with a dock at Washington Dulles International Airport on Monday (November 10), resulting in 18 passengers being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. as the vehicle, which transports passengers between terminals and concourses, approached Concourse D at an angle, according to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA).
Passengers were able to exit the mobile lounge using stairs, and emergency personnel evaluated them for injuries. Initially, reports indicated that eight people were hospitalized, but the number was later updated to 18. The MWAA confirmed that the airport remains operational despite the incident .
