On Saturday, Minisink Valley gets another shot at Cornwall, which scored an improbable upset over the Warriors in last year’s Section 9 Class A championship game. In one of the greatest comebacks in Section 9 history – in any sport – Cornwall defeated Minisink Valley 27-26 to win last year’s title.
Cornwall, the top seed, trailed 26-7 with approximately 4:30 left in the showdown. The rivals meet again for the championship at 6 p.m. on Friday at Monroe-Woodbury High School.
