Out of nowhere, Apple dropped a press release on some of its newsroom websites around the world for a new evolution of the iPod sock made by the Japanese brand ISSY MIYAKE.

This new version elevates the old sock case by incorporating a handle and a new knit pattern. It’s called an iPhone Pocket, and there are two versions: one that resembles a purse and one with a long crossbody strap.

Both bags/cases are knitted as a single piece of fabric, featuring an interesting pattern and numerous colour options. However, it’s only getting an extremely limited release and will be available at only 10 stores, and most of them are in Asia or Europe. Only the New York SoHo store will stock the iPhone Pocket.
