Cal State Fullerton soccer player Lauren Turner has died weeks after the Titans sophomore and a teammate were struck by a box truck as they were riding scooters near the campus.

The Cal State Fullerton Athletics Department announced Turner's death in a statement Tuesday morning, about six weeks after she was hospitalized in the intensive care unit. The box truck collided with Turner and her teammate at about 7 p.m. Sept. 27 on Associated Road as the two were returning to the Orange County campus.

Turner died Friday, according to the statement.
