When Susan Korn opened her first retail store in New York City, she had no idea her future fiancé was in attendance.

The 39-year-old founder, CEO, and creative director launched her accessories brand, Susan Alexandra — now a cult favorite known for its whimsical, beaded designs — in 2014. Its first brick-and-mortar store came in 2021.

At the time, family and friends gathered to celebrate its grand opening. One guest — a friend of Korn's who worked in fashion — brought her brother, Andy Nahman, along.
