Detective John Luther is back on the case.

Idris Elba will star in the next “Luther” movie at Netflix , reuniting with actors Ruth Wilson and Dermot Crowley. It’s the streamer’s second feature film, following 2023’s “Luther: The Fallen Sun,” based on the popular BBC television show.

Jamie Payne is directing the sequel from a script by series creator Neil Cross. In this chapter, Luther is secretly called back into service when a new wave of brutal, seemingly random murders hits London. “But how can he save London when everyone on all sides seems to want him dead?” the official logline asks.
