Having recently spent a bundle to buy Paramount , David Ellison needs a little more cash — specifically more from Paramount+ subscribers. In its first earnings report as a freshly merged entity, Paramount Skydance announced it would raise prices on the company’s flagship streamer on January 15, 2026.

Monthly streaming bills will go up by $1: Paramount+ Essential, the ad-supported plan, is going from $7.99 to $8.99 per month while Premium, the ad-free plan that includes Showtime content, will go from $12.99 to $13.99 per month. And annual plans are going up even more significantly — from $59.99 to $89.99 per year for Essential and $119.99 to $139.99 for Premium. Those are still discounts off the monthly rates, but … yikes! And oh yeah, free trials are going away too.
