An investigation has concluded following complaints an Aberdeen primary school teacher reportedly told children that "Santa wasn't real".

The local authority said "families can be assured" that learnings have been shared with staff at Greenbrae School, in the Bridge of Don area, to "help navigate sensitive discussions".

The alleged incident is said to have taken place while primary six pupils - typically aged between 9 and 10 years old - discussed All Saints' Day.

The remark was reportedly made when the topic turned to St Nicholas - the inspiration behind Father Christmas and the patron saint of sailors, merchants, and children, among others.

Aberdeen City Council launched an investigation following complaints by parents and carers.
