WASHINGTON — Washington Spirit advanced to the semifinals after Aubrey Kingsbury saved two shots in a penalty shootout against Racing Louisville on Saturday and they're now heading to the semifinals. Best of all, it's right at home at Audi Field.
No. 2 Washington Spirit will take on No. 3 Portland Thorns FC on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 12 p.m. at Audi Field.
If the Spirit win, they will advance to their second consecutive NWSL Championship, next Saturday, November 22 at 8 p.m. in San Jose, Calif.
About a week ago, Kingsbury saved two shots in a penalty shootout and the Washington Spirit overcame Racing Louisville in the quarterfinals of the National Women’s Soccer League playoffs.
The match finished 1-1 in regulation, with Spirit winning the shootout 3-1.
