Police in Quebec have issued more than 2,000 tickets to truck drivers during the month of October as part of a province-wide road safety initiative targeting heavy goods vehicles.

Since the start of the operation, over 1,600 heavy trucks have been intercepted, and authorities say the crackdown will continue until early 2026.

Most fines were handed out to drivers for violations such as ignoring traffic signage, following other vehicles too closely, distracted driving, not wearing seat belts, failing to yield the right-of-way, and speeding.
