Legendary investor Warren Buffett has said “As the British would say, I'm 'going quiet’,” after sending his final shareholder letter as chief executive of Berkshire Hathaway.
The 95-year-old billionaire, known globally as the “Oracle of Omaha”, confirmed he is stepping back from the high-profile role he has held for more than six decades and is preparing to hand the reins to his long-time deputy, Greg Abel. The move marks the end of an era on Wall Street.
Buffett turned Berkshire Hathaway from a struggling New England textile mill into a £1 trillion corporate empire, with more than 60 companies under its control
