Airports in and around North Jersey continue to experience flight problems Nov. 11 even as the federal government shutdown appears to be nearing an end.
There were 63 flight cancellations and 75 delays at Newark Liberty International Airport as of noon, according to the tracking app FlightAware . Newark saw 112 flights canceled before 5:30 p.m. the previous day , along with more than 300 delays.
The issues were also prevalent in New York, as 127 flights were canceled at LaGuardia Airport and 44 at JFK Airport . Delays were much more common, with 280 at LaGuardia and 110 at JFK before noon.
The numbers come as the government looks poised to end the shutdown, which began Oct. 1 and is already the longest in American history .
